The European Travel Information and Authorization System, or ETIAS for short, is an automated travel authorization system that grants visa-free entry to residents of 62 countries to visit Schengen destinations. Visitors are required to obtain an ETIAS travel authorization prior to traveling to that country. This automated process will take effect in 2023, and the intention of developing such an electronic authorization system is to ensure the safety of people within its borders.

Before arriving in the Schengen Area, travelers must go through a screening process to determine whether or not they are eligible for entry into the Schengen Area. Before boarding a plane in the region, they will need to register online and receive authorization from ETIAS. So, let’s learn about the benefits of ETIAS for people who want to travel to Schengen.

ETIAS will provide visa-free entry to the Schengen area

The Schengen area includes 26 countries: Austria, Belgium, Estonia, Finland, France, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Sweden, Switzerland and many others. ETIAS will grant travelers a 90-day stay in all 26 ETIAS countries. These 26 countries make up the Schengen area as a whole. Once authorized, they will not have to face security checks or complicated domestic conditions at the border. They can move freely between Schengen countries, as there are no strict internal borders. It has one condition: visitors cannot work or study in the zone, but can engage in business and tourism activities.

ETIAS entitles you to open a bank account

The authorization system allows non-residents to open a bank account in the Schengen area. Thanks to the simplified paperwork, visitors must obtain credit from an individual, which will make them credible to open an account. To do this, you will be asked for some simplified and authentic documents. Once you provide the documents, you can open an account in any part of the Schengen area. Most Schengen work visas allow their visitors to work for one year, but many countries allow people to apply for an extension. To do this, they need to provide the legal documents of the company you are working with and state the actual reason for the extension.
